FAQs

Nano brows are a modern, advanced brow tattoo technique that uses a digital machine to create ultra-fine, hair-like strokes. The result is soft, natural, and customizable — designed to enhance your brows without looking heavy or overdone.
-
Nano brows are created with a machine rather than a manual blade. This allows for:
Less trauma to the skin
Better retention over time
Finer, more precise strokes
A safer option for most skin types
Microblading can look beautiful, but nano brows tend to heal more evenly and age more gracefully.
-
That’s completely normal.
You’ll be involved in the design process from the start. I encourage you to share what you do and don’t like, and I draw everything on first so you can see the shape, placement, and hair-stroke direction before anything permanent is done.
Nothing begins without your approval, and adjustments are always welcome. While most clients feel nervous at first, they quickly relax once they see the process — and often say, “I should have done this sooner.”
-
Yes — natural is the specialty here.
Emily Dear focuses on soft, natural-looking brows that enhance your features rather than overpower them. No harsh lines, no blocky shapes, no heavy makeup-style brows. The goal is for your brows to look like your brows, just more balanced, defined, and intentional.
“Natural” can still mean different things to different people — from barely-there enhancement to fuller, fluffier brows that remain realistic. We’ll design your brows together based on your face, bone structure, lifestyle, and personal taste. Nothing is cookie-cutter, and nothing is rushed.

Discomfort is minimal for most clients.
Most clients rate the sensation around a 3 out of 10, with 10 being too painful to continue. A topical numbing agent is used during the session, but it is intentionally applied after the first pass on each brow. This allows the skin to respond properly and supports better pigment retention and healing (trust me).
Once numbing is applied, most people describe the feeling as light scratching or gentle pressure rather than pain. Everyone’s sensitivity is different, but overall this procedure is very well tolerated.
-
A touch-up is commonly recommended, but it’s not always necessary.
Many clients benefit from a touch-up 6–10 weeks after the initial session to refine strokes or reinforce pigment. That said, some clients heal beautifully and do not require an initial touch-up, depending on their skin type, lifestyle, and desired look.
Long-term maintenance is normal for everyone. Most clients return for a refresh every 1.5–3 years to keep their brows looking their best.
-
Botox should be avoided for two weeks before and two weeks after your nano brow appointment.
This ensures proper brow positioning, accurate mapping, and optimal healing results. If you have Botox scheduled or recently had injections, please plan accordingly or reach out if you’re unsure about timing.
-
Yes — once healed.
During the healing period, brow makeup should be avoided. After healing, you can still use brow products if desired, though most clients find they don’t need them. -
